Cantilever Rack Supplier in India
Why Long Materials Need a Different Storage System
Pipes, steel bars, timber and sheets are often stored on the floor or forced into pallet racks. Upright frames in pallet racks block long loads, which causes damage, wasted floor area and unsafe manual handling. Floor-stacked material is hard to count, hard to retrieve and a common cause of workplace injuries.
A cantilever racking system removes the front column entirely. Load-bearing arms extend from a central column, leaving an unobstructed front face. Long materials can then be loaded and retrieved from the side by forklift, side loader or overhead crane, with no uprights in the way.
How a Cantilever Rack Works
A cantilever rack is built from four primary structural components:
-
- Columns (Uprights): Vertical load-bearing members that carry the arms and transfer load to the base
- Bases: Horizontal feet that provide stability and resist overturning moment
- Arms: Horizontal members that support the stored load. They are height-adjustable along the column, in straight or inclined configurations
- Bracing: Horizontal and diagonal bracing between columns for structural integrity and lateral stability
Arm end stops or lips prevent round materials such as pipes and tubes from rolling off.
Configurations
Single-Sided Cantilever Rack
Arms extend from one side of the column. This is ideal against walls or building perimeters.
Double-Sided Cantilever Rack
Arms extend from both sides of a central column. This maximises storage capacity in open-floor layouts with access from two aisles.
Customised Arm & Column Configurations
Column heights, arm lengths, arm spacing and load capacities are tailored to your material profile and handling equipment.
Features
-
- Open-front design: No front uprights, so loads of any length can be stored
- Easy loading and unloading: Direct side access by forklift, side loader or crane
- Excellent vertical utilisation: Multi-level arms make use of building height
- Heavy-duty construction: Structural steel sections engineered for high load capacity
- Customised arm and column configurations: Built around your inventory, not a standard catalogue size
Suitable For
Pipes · Tubes · Structural sections · Steel bars · Timber · Profiles · Sheets & panels
